Holiday Double Slay with Mustangsallytwo 2018

It’s #HolidayDoubleSlay again and we are here to SLAY with the 2018 instalment!

Holiday Double Slay is a special plus size fashion feature presented by blogger, influencer and good friend, Lisa of Mustangsallytwo. The #HolidayDoubleSlay concept was born in 2016 when Lisa decided to team up with some of her favourite full figured fashionistas and plus size brands to showcase beauty diversity through festive fashion – it was such a hit, and so well received by her fans that Lisa decided it had to be an annual event.

Lisa’s commitment to inspiring women through social media and challenging brands to expand their size range is tremendous and she is one of the most dedicated influencers I know. She has become an icon in the plus size fashion industry and a leader in fearless fashion for plus sizes with a special focus on extended sizes. Her blog and social media presence provide a wealth of information and insight into brands that are size inclusive, such as Catherine’s, the plus size fashion brand we are featuring for our #HolidayDoubleSlay looks.

We wanted to showcase outfits that were festive and professional but also functional, comfortable and versatile.

Leggings or jeggings, boots and a top are my go-to combo during the colder months. It was easy to mix and match a look that was perfectly suited to my style with Catherine’s. The Ponte Knit Leggings were SO comfortable, well constructed and the burgundy shade is so in this year. They also come in different colours. They fit very well at the waist and made me feel properly supported without being too tight. I paired them with a lovely damask print top from their Black Label collection and I love how the relaxed peplum shape gave me a silhouette. The ruffle detail on the sleeves also elevates the look and makes it a top that can easily be styled up.

Now let’s talk about these wide calf boots!!! Finding comfortable, good quality and stylish wide calf boots is so difficult for so many of us, but Catherine’s has a lovely selection of footwear for wider feet and calves. These are the Good Sole Comfort Tall Boot and they are EXACTLY what I had been looking for this season.

To finish off the look, and stealing a page from Lisa’s #printmixing book, I chose a reversible poncho and loved how the different prints in black and white tones came together. It’s called the Sundown Reversilble Ruana. Notice how the fine leather trim picked up the leather-look in the boots.

Catherine’s makes shopping for an entire look in one place so easy. My Fluffy Charm Earrings, although my hair is covering them, and my Silver Sparkle Slider Bracelet, were lovely contemporary pieces that I can wear for years to come.

I also was completely obsessed with Lisa’s sophisticated layered look. She never misses a beat when it comes to styling.

Finding the right coat or jacket can be challenging when it comes to holiday looks, because they’re either too short or too sporty. That’s why we both chose ponchos, or “ruanas” which are super versatile. When you’re just going from the car to the office or to a party, you can get away with a little less structure but you still want the coverage and warmth.

Our thinking was holiday office party, work appropriate but still festive, and I think we delivered very well, thanks to Catherine’s!

Please enjoy all of Lisa’s #HolidayDoubleSlay looks on her blog, and get ready for our lounge looks from all of us on Friday, Dec 7!
