Flowers to the Wind

So if you’re not ready to throw caution to the wind, just settle for some flowers. Or maybe, just maybe, you can try something new and step outside of your comfort zone. When I’m at my boutique, I hear things like “I’m not a dress person” or “I wish I could wear dresses” all the time from customers. The thing is, there IS a dress for you. It’s just a matter of finding the right one, for you.

This post features the lovely floral Diana V-neck plus size dress by SWAK (Sealed with a kiss Designs). Since I’m an apple shape (carrying most of my weight in my belly), empire cuts like this are a great solution. There’s NOTHING wrong with showing your belly mind you, but if you feel more comfortable with a little less emphasis on that area, and perhaps don’t want to bother with shapewear, then I suggest cuts like this.

The full circle skirt will just fall loosely around your belly and hips, while the surplice bodice shapes your upper body nicely.

I liked the craftsmanship on this dress, with the chiffon hem being nicely serged, and the skirt being fully lined.

To bring in the pinks (my favourite colour), I layered two statement necklaces (a style I borrowed from super blogger Thera of Cloud 14+).

A classic black pump, cute flat or even a summer wedge would be perfect to complete this breezy look.

This dress also comes in 3 other prints, up to size 6X:

So whether it’s dresses, leggings, jeans…just keep trying stuff on ladies, throw caution to the wind, and learn to embrace your curves in the ever-increasing selection of lovely styles we have available to us.

Special thanks to Lisa of the blog Mustangsallytwo for snapping these great pictures for me!
