By now you know that I’m a lover of tunics and leggings in the Winter months. It’s just a combination that works for my shape. But sometimes, when we find a cut or combination that works for us, we may end up mindlessly repeating it and letting our stylee-senses fall to the wayside.
This is why I force myself to opt for contrasting colours, patterns and textures when putting outfits together.
When I saw this varsity sweater dress at Forever 21, I knew it was for me. Although featured on their website as a dress, which I could do in summer or to go out, I knew it would be great as a tunic. The classic black and white pattern can be paired with solids and patterns as I did with these herringbone tights from Addition Elle.
You might never suspect it, but it works so well to add yet another pattern, the animal print belt and necklace. And the hint of pink in the necklace picks up the magenta tones in the tights quite nicely.
Any wide calf boots would have done the trick here, but I opted for one of my all-time favorite styles, the Venus by SexyPlus (designed by Boots by Pamela).
I am wearing shapewear because I like a sleek, more contained look and feel.
I shot these images myself with my tripod so excuse me if they all kinda look the same! Points for effort? 🙂
